Album Cover Photoshoot – Behind the Scenes!
Here's a video courtesy of THiNKViK!! The music in the video is an instrumental of a song I'm working on with Esjay.
Shoot took place at Sze's house which was perfect because it was going through renovations and there was lots of empty space and high ceilings to work with. I got to Sze's early, so we started watching a Korean movie called Lady Vengeance. The scene that stuck the most from the movie was the one where a woman in jail was telling the story of how she killed her husband and mother-in-law, barbecued and then ate them.
Christine and Brittany came by half way through the movie and set up a makeup area in an empty room downstairs. It was really chilly, so I'm glad they both brought sweaters. They also brought me a bag of free Dior makeup! I felt so spoiled. Twas really lovely talking to them, sharing stories and feeling the brush strokes against my face. Chrissy didn't let me see the makeup till it was completely finished and when I did see it, the transformation was amazing! Hands down best makeup ever!
Vikaash, the photographer, got stuck in traffic so we ate sushi, chips and candy in the meantime. He finally came and we got everything set up in the room with the huge panda in it. He set up the backdrop and the lighting kit (thank you David LeClaire and Angie!) and then the shoot began. Chrissy was great at directing me - I think she should consider modeling. She really knows her body well. Vik directed me too and he snapped away for over 4 hours straight. Raajan came over for a little bit too and it made me feel more at ease because he's so sweet and supportive.
I don't know how I could possibly thank everyone for everything they've done to make this shoot a success. The photos look so pretty and none of it would be possible without them. I can't wait to see the finished album cover and to share it with all of you!
Here are some pictures Sze took at the shoot:
This one was with the ring light that she made (it creates the bright circles in the eyes):
