The Mixtapes Hallowe’en Spooktacular!!
The Mixtapes performed at SD Galleria and then at the British Ex-Servicemen's Association in Vancouver on the weekend before Hallowe'en. Not the thousands that came through the shows for the Richmond Night Market gigs during the summer, but a ghoulish and spirited audience. I don't get to celebrate Hallowe'en this year really, considering I'll be on a 14-hour flight to China on October 31...do they have Hallowe'en in China? But hanging out with the band, singing Monster Mash and Weezer...and the Mr. Monster cookies...that made it oh so sweet. 
Frankenweenie + My List of Favourite Hallowe’en Movies
Watched "Frankenweenie" last night in 3D...and the theatre was completely empty so we had it all to ourselves! It's a story about a little boy named Victor Frankenstein whose dog dies and he brings him back to life. I really admired the childish lightheartedness and Tim Burton's artistic black and white, retro horror-movie touch. And it just reminded me that Hallowe'en is just around the corner...
Loved the "Weird Girl" with the crazy cat poop omens! I couldn't stop laughing when I saw the duo appear on the screen -- this picture doesn't do them justice!
